Six Flags, Warner Bros. Discovery & RWS conjure up maximum chills with two haunt experiences based on New Line Cinema’s ‘The Conjuring
ARLINGTON, Texas – October 3, 2023 ─ Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: SIX), the world’s largest regional theme park company and the largest operator of water parks in North America, has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and RWS to conjure up a haunted house experience for Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure that promises to leave guests truly terrified. Inspired by New Line Cinema’s iconicfilm The Conjuring, visitors dare to enter the secluded farmhouse of the Perron family that has been terrorized and plagued by sinister spirits. These new and original horrifying haunts are part of Six Flags’ popular Fright Fest celebration, which marks 30 years of terror this season.
Working alongside Warner Bros. Discovery Six Flags collaborated with RWS on all creative and production aspects of The Conjuring, including scenic design based on the film, project management, creative direction, audio design, lighting design, scenic and prop build, costume design build, and scare actor casting.
Using a unique adaptive storytelling structure, The Conjuring haunted houses truly transport guests into the early 1970’s as a visitor to the Perron family home. Strange noises and smells, stopped clocks, slamming doors and figures lurking in dark corners are part of the experience but guests will also be surprised by additional effects that make the haunted house even more terrifying. Additional details are being withheld to keep a few surprises for The Conjuring victims as they visit Six Flags parks in Los Angeles and Jackson, NJ.
“By partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery and RWS, we are giving guests a truly immersive haunted house experience that brings the supernatural powers of The Conjuring to life,” said Six Flags Chief Marketing Officer Edithann Ramey. “As two iconic Six Flags properties, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure, mark 30 years of Fright Fest, we wanted to deliver an experience so well-produced, so frightening, so realistic, that guests would leave screaming for more.”
“The RWS team is thrilled to be part of creating an all-new haunt experience inspired by a modern horror classic like The Conjuring,” said Monica Miklas, RWS’ Senior Manager, Creative Direction. “We want the audience to feel like they’ve stepped into the world of the film. They can expect lots of insider nods to the film’s most iconic elements – plus a couple of very big, very terrifying surprises.”
Six Flags’ Fright Fest runs select weekends through October 31. The Conjuring is offered exclusively at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure. For hours, tickets and additional information visit sixflags.com.
